Police have remanded a 33 year old man, from Penang, who went berserk at a restaurant in Parit Buntar, Perak yesterday.
Kerian OCPD Superintendent Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said the man was remanded for four days until this Friday.
He added that police are waiting for the results of the suspect’s blood test for futher action.
In the 1.40am incident, over 20 patrons at the restaurant were sent scrambling for their lives when the man armed with a meat cleaver ran amok inside the premises.
Apart from scaring off the patrons, the man, clad only in short pants, had also overturned and smashed the restaurant’s tables and chairs.
Police, who rushed to the scene, managed to apprehend the suspect with the help of members of the public.
