Pilot Negligence A Factor In Jamaluddin Jarjis Copter Crash
Pilot negligence was a factor in the helicopter crash which killed Rompin Member of Parliament, Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis and five others on April 4th last year.
A final report released by the Malaysia Air Accident Investigation Bureau was released on Friday.
It concluded that the pilot, Captain Clifford Fournier, failed to check on the condition of the Dauphin 9MIGB helicopter after it made an earlier rough landing at a football field in Muadzam Shah, Pahang.
The 117-page report also revealed that Fournier failed to inspect an excessive oil leak and damage to other parts of the helicopter.
That included the left landing gear, after the aforementioned rough landing, and his decision to continue the journey, to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.
